Martain Ferguson
Martain Ferguson works primarily with the fee-based accounts of Hancock Capital Management, Inc., our Registered Investment Advisory firm. He assists representatives with account openings, meeting preparation, and client requests.
Prior to joining The Hancock Group, Inc. Martain was the on-site manager for Greenwood Hills Bible Conference and Camp for 17 years, where he ran the office and oversaw the day-to-day operations.
In Martain’s spare time he is a hobby beekeeper and is also involved in the Clan Ferguson Society of North America, for which he has served as a regional VP, and currently serves as the treasurer.
Martain lives in Williamsburg, PA with his wife Kim and their three children.
Ann Betar
Ann Betar is passionate about all things related to retirement plans. She strives to help employers stay within the IRS guidelines for plans as well as helps participants navigate the complicated rules.
Ann joined The Hancock Group, Inc. in 1984 (at the age of 4!).
Ann earned her Accredited Pension Administrator designation in 2007. She is very active in her church and busy with her husband, 5 grown children, special niece and her grandchildren.
Currently, Ann lives in Altoona with her husband, Dennis. She enjoys time with family and scrapbooking.
Raymond Kline
For over 24 years Ray Kline, has been the Director of Marketing and Public Relations person for The Hancock Group, Inc. He is the editor of the firm’s newsletter, designs ads and various correspondence pieces, coordinates the internship program for college students, answers incoming calls, and greets and seats clients who visit the office.
Ray has a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and marketing. He graduated from Myers University in Cleveland, Ohio. He has attended numerous seminars and workshops on work dynamics, placement and recruitment, problem solving, working with support groups, time constraints and marketing. Ray has served on many local, civic and business boards in the Altoona area. He is also a certified Lau Bach Literary Tutor for the Altoona Area Public Library. Prior to working at The Hancock Group, Inc., he was Assistant Director of the Altoona School of Commerce, was an instructor, and a Placement and Recruiting Officer licensed by the Department of Education for 27 years.
Ray enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. Ray and his wife reside in Altoona and have a grown daughter who is head clinician for the Ambulatory Surgical Center, Shady Side UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA.
Michael Hemberger
Michael Hemberger has been an IT and Information Systems Manager for over 29 years.
Michael is a graduate of Penn State University’s EET program. Before joining The Hancock Group, Inc. he owned and operated a computer consulting firm called Connection.
Michael currently resides in Altoona, Pa. with his wife Judy.
Kathy Gephart
Kathy has been with The Hancock Group, Inc. for 33 years and currently serves as Administrative Assistant for Agents & Brokers within the office and Associated Sales Offices.
Nancy Stolz
Since 1995, Nancy Stolz has been helping The Hancock Group Inc.’s clients when they have questions or need assistance with forms, claims and related paperwork for servicing their insurance, annuities, and investments. She works with the firm’s agents and representatives in preparing for client meetings, running illustrations, compiling reports, and more. Nancy also assists the Agency’s Corporate clients with their Corporate Shareholders and Board of Directors meetings.
Nancy previously worked for 20 years at Mid-State Bank (now M&T Bank), last serving as a Human Resources Officer, where she earned her Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School.
Nancy is active in her Church serving as Altoona Alliance Board Secretary, AWANA, Missions, and teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. She currently lives in Altoona.
