Our History
The Hancock Group, Inc. has provided insurance and financial services for over 60 years. Started by Allan G. Hancock, CLU, ChFC, the company's mission is to help clients achieve financial independence through consistent savings and investment strategies, retirement planning, and preparing for life's unpredictable events.

The Hancock Group, Inc. is made up of several specialized companies:
Hancock Associates, Inc. (HAI): Formed in 1983, this company focuses on employee benefits, including hospitalization, group life, and disability coverage, as well as 401(k) and other retirement plans. They work with a variety of carriers, such as Geisinger, UPMC, and HIGHMARK Blue Cross Blue Shield, and also assist individuals with Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement Plans.
Allan Hancock Agency, Inc.: Established in 1991, this agency serves individuals and businesses with services like life insurance, wealth accumulation, estate planning, disability insurance, and long-term care protection. They also provide businesses with consulting and succession planning. The agency has been a Brokerage General Agency with The Principal Financial Group® since 1963.
Hancock Capital Management, Inc.*: This company was formed in 1995 to provide fee-based asset allocation and wealth management services. Advisory services are offered through this entity, which is a Pennsylvania Registered Investment Advisor.
(*Hancock Capital Management, Inc. will cease operations in late 2025. After this point Advisory services will be offered through LPL Financial.)
Professional Affiliations and Community Involvement
Professional Credentials: The Account Executives at The Hancock Group, Inc. (THGI) hold various credentials and professional designations, and are licensed in multiple states. Craig M. Kilmer is an invited member of the exclusive Ed Slott's IRA Advisor Group, a group of IRA specialists.
Brokerage Operations: THGI's brokerage operations have worked with brokers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. All agents are Registered Representatives with LPL Financial, Member FINRA/SIPC
Community Activities: The associates and staff at THGI are actively involved in numerous social and civic activities. They participate in organizations like the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, the MS Society, and Junior Achievement. Since 2003, their Associates and Employees Foundation, a donor-advised fund, has awarded over $45,300 in scholarships and contributions to charities.
