The Hancock Group Employees & Associates Foundation and Allan Hancock Family Foundation Award Scholarships

     The Hancock Group, Inc. Employees and Associates Foundation awarded two Scholarships and the Allan Hancock Family Foundation awarded its first scholarship at the annual Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation luncheon on May 7, 2009.  The awards luncheon was held at the Casino, Lakemont Park.  Recipients of The Hancock Group, Inc. Employees and Associates Foundation were Adam Bettwy, Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School and Justine Hrzic, Penn Cambria High School.  Recipient of the Allan Hancock Family Foundation Scholarship was Scott Andrews, Altoona Area High School.
     The Hancock Group, Inc. was the first group of employees to start a charitable foundation with the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation.  Since the inception of the foundation, November 11, 2003 THG have awarded a total of 11 scholarships to High School students bound for college.  In addition to the scholarships, numerous donations have been made to worthwhile projects, totaling $17,812 to non-profit organizations and memorials for clients and friends who have passed away.

     Contributions to the Foundation are made by employees and associates.  Some of the employees have this set up as a payroll deduction every payroll!

2004 -- Jonathan Somerton, Bellwood Antis High School and Lindsee Ruggles, Central High School
2005 -- Erin Neely, Bishop Guilfoyle High School
2006 -- Brooke Decker, Central High School and Holly J. Scheffer, Altoona Area High School
2007 -- Natasha F. Ray, Bellwood Antis High School and Charles J. Weber, of the Great Commission School.

2008 -- Lori Kephart, Central High School and Leanna B. Noon, Chestnut Ridge High School
